It is our desire to partner with parents in the spiritual development of their children by:
1) creating a safe environment that builds trust
2) establishing consistent, caring relationships where the Gospel is presented and modeled,
3) affirming and developing spiritual gifts which glorify God
Our Children’s Ministry will impact every child with the Gospel, desiring he/she will become a lifelong follower of Jesus Christ. Our Children’s Ministry will impact every child with the Gospel, desiring he/she will become a lifelong follower of Jesus Christ.
The Power of the Big God Story impacts our lives with the story of redemption and hope. God is creating a unique story of each of us. “God has a Big Story, and I can be part of it”
Children are challenged to take responsibility & ownership for brothers in sisters in Christ and for the spiritually lost. “God has entrusted me with the things and people around me that He has created”
Once we know we can be a part of the big God story, we want to find ourselves in it. We have been given an identity in Christ—a guard against the counter-identity the world offers our children.
We all make mistakes—flows out of Hebrews 12:11-13. Discipline involves three things: 1) a season of pain, 2)building up of love 3) a vision of a corrected past. “When I get off track, God offers me a path of healing”
Once we know our identity is in the Big God Story, we experience with one another by creating an environment for our children to be a part of it. Our love reflects His love and love for one another. “God’s family cares for each other and worships God together”
Love / Respect
Without love, our faith is futile. Children are respected and accepted, never withheld. “God fills me with His love so that I can give it away”
Creates a posture in our hearts to ask “what needs to be done?” and allows the Holy Spirit to lead us “What needs to be done?”
To be known by God. Children are given a foundation based on knowing God’s Word. “God knows me, and I can know Him”
Out of Comfort Zone
One step further…challenged to step out of comfort zone and learning a dependence on the Holy Spirit “God transforms me when I step out in faith”
Biblical content needs a practical living expression. Knowing the who becomes the “how”. A hands on example—putting flesh on things, “I see Christ in others, and they can see Him in me”.
