The Body is made of many parts
Home Groups
Discipleship is key to growing in the likeness of Christ and Home Groups are one way that we grow together in our faith. God created us to be a part of community. In Acts 2:46-47, we learn that the early church gathered together daily with incredible results: “And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.”
Our home groups meet weekly at different times and locations throughout the region. These groups generally study the Scripture from Sunday worship services, but are not limited to that. Through the weekly meetings, deep friendships are built and home groups become the primary avenue of care for one another, lifting each other up in any circumstance and building each other up in faith. Home groups are also encouraged to serve in some way outside of the group.
Check out our Home Groups page to see a list of open groups and where they meet. You can even reach out to the leader(s) of any group you are interested in checking out.
Serve Here
The Bride Church has been able to partner with God in His Kingdom mission because of the faithfulness of those who call it home. You are invited to be a part of the family here. Just like every family member has a part to play in the home, everyone who has found a home at The Bride Church has a part to play in this family. There are opportunities to serve in a wide range of skill and commitment levels. If you are new here, take some time to get to know us. We want you to feel like a part of the family before you jump into serving, but also know that serving is a great way to get more connected.
When you’re ready to get involved, it helps to serve in an area where you have some gifting. If you’re not sure, we’d love to help you discover your gifts. Some examples might be the gift of caring or hospitality. Music, technology, prayer, helpfulness, creativity, crafting, and teaching are just a handful of the many gifts that you might have. Serving in an area where you are gifted will bring you much joy and benefit the Kingdom of God greatly. If you’d like to start serving now, take a moment to fill out this brief form and we’ll get in touch with you soon.
Serve the Community
Throughout the Bible, the people of God have continually been called to serve those less fortunate. Widows, orphans, and strangers are mentioned throughout the prophets of the Old Testament. Jesus instructs His followers to feed the hungry, give the thirsty something to drink, welcome the stranger, clothe the naked, visit the sick, and go to those in prison. “Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me” (Matthew 25:40, ESV).
The Bride has become known in the community as a church that cares for others. Lydia’s House Ministries, Mobile Meals, Craftsmen for Christ, and the Love Your Neighbor Food Pantry are a few of the formal ways that we serve the community. But the body of believers here goes beyond formal serving opportunities in their everyday interactions. From helping people move or finding furnishings to fixing broken down AC units or changing oil for a single mom, the people of The Bride Church step up and serve others with humble hearts. It’s how we show that we truly do love our neighbors. If you want to get involved with serving our community, take a moment to fill out this brief form and we’ll get in touch with you soon (FYI – it’s the same form linked above under “Serve Here”).
Ministries of The Bride Church
As mentioned above, it is the faithfulness of the body of believers who carry the lionshare of the ministry at The Bride Church. That’s because the work of elders-shepherds-pastors is to equip the saints for the work of ministry. Through discipleship, teaching, and serving alongside of you, our hope is that you would gain the confidence to share your faith, make disciples, and gather others to serve alongside of you in what God has called you to do for the sake of His glory. Church is a gathering of believers to worship God and encourage one another, but it is also so much more than that. It is the people of God, partnering with Him in what He is already doing in our neighborhoods, community, and world. If you are a follower of Christ, you are a part of His ministry to His Church and the world.
Church is more than a Sunday morning gathering with music and a message. The Church is the Body of Christ. Together, we grow into His likeness as we serve one another and the community. The ministries listed here represent a small part of what God is doing through The Bride Church.
