MULTIPLY | GOD’S HEART TO MULTIPLY HIS PEOPLE
JUDE 1:2 MAY MERCY, PEACE, AND LOVE BE MULTIPLIED TO YOU
KEY SCRIPTURES
With each transition in scripture, God asks His people to be fruitful and multiply. Before the fall:
Genesis 1:28 And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it…”
God commanded this to His people throughout the Old Testament and then through Jesus when he spoke:
Matthew 28:19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Use what has been given in order to fullfill God’s command:
Mark 4:21 And he said to them, “Is a lamp brought in to be put under a basket, or under a bed, and not on a stand? 22 For nothing is hidden except to be made manifest; nor is anything secret except to come to light. 23 If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear.” 24 And he said to them, “Pay attention to what you hear: with the measure you use, it will be measured to you, and still more will be added to you. 25 For to the one who has, more will be given, and from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away.”
A light on a hill:
Matthew 5:14 “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.15 Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
