  • Jesus is the Word (Logos) incarnate, the source of all creation and truth
  • Our words, thoughts, and actions define our character and spiritual state
  • Repentance involves changing our mind and aligning with God’s truth
  • The Bible is a direct way to understand God’s mind and will
  • We must be cautious of teachings that elevate human will over God’s sovereignty
  • True faith is submission to God’s will, not commanding God or “manifesting” our desires
  • As GOD spoke light to the darkness, disorder and chaos, we rehearse the same w the Gospel

Discussion

  • Words are unimaginably powerful. Share an example from your own life where words had a significant impact on you or someone else.
  • How does understanding Jesus as the “Logos” (the Word) change your perspective on creation and your relationship with Him?
  • What we allow into our hearts through our ears and eyes is important. How mindful are you of the media and influences you consume? What changes might you need to make?
  • Discuss the difference between the “Word of Faith” movement and true biblical faith. Why is it important to distinguish between the two?
  • What challenges do you face in surrendering your own desires to God?
  • How does the concept of being “in the name of Christ” (walking in righteousness and harmony with Jesus) challenge or encourage you in your daily life?

Application

  • Media Fast: Choose one form of media (social media, TV, music, etc.) to fast from for a week. Replace that time with reading Scripture or listening to worship music.
  • Word Watch: For the next week, pay close attention to the words you speak. At the end of each day, reflect on how your speech aligned with God’s Word.
  • Bible Reading Plan: Commit to reading a chapter of the Bible each day, focusing on passages about God’s character and promises.
  • Encouragement Challenge: Each day this week, use your words to genuinely encourage at least one person, reflecting Christ’s love through your speech.
