Key Scriptures

Key Points

  • God has placed eternity in our hearts; therefore, we have an unquenchable need without Jesus. God is unchangeable but desires to change us.
  • To want more and hope for better is as natural as breathing.
  • To fast or to remove something good and replace it with something better is a discipline that can lead to transformation.
  • The prophet Isaiah is directed to not hold back but to shout with a loud cry and tell God’s people their transgressions. This is a first step in drawing close to God: understand what is in the way!
  • Transgression is a willfully unrepentant heart that trespasses against God’s desires for us.
  • Faith pleases God.
  • Belief in His promise to reward the diligent seeker is a great place to break unbelief.
  • Fasting is the amplifier of prayer.
